This is what Djibril Kosi Oki, Administrative Officer in the FAO office in Togo, described at the late Thursday celebration in Lomé of the 42nd World Food Day (WFD) along with the 26th TeleFood operation.
World Food Day 2022 not only calls on all stakeholders to become food champions and build a sustainable future, but also calls for global solidarity so that no one is left behind when it comes to tackling the multiple challenges of hunger, poverty, violent extremism and climate change.
The theme for the year is: “Leave no one behind!”
“We urgently need to help them feed themselves and help us all. Communities that do not receive emergency aid or that live in conflict areas are easily left behind. We need better coordination and targeting of the essential support that needs to be provided to them properly,” says El-Sayed. Good.
Visit local produce stalls
For its part, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development is focusing on continuing agricultural development, strengthening irrigation systems through the implementation of the Master Plan for Agriculture (SDAI), and bringing mechanization services closer to producers through the establishment and operation of Regional Agricultural Mechanization Centers (CRMA).

In the aftermath of this celebration, kits were distributed to small producers and an organic market for local products opened at Faw Square in Lomé until tomorrow, Saturday 26 November.
Here you can find agricultural products from the fields (corn, cassava, sweet potatoes, sorghum, etc.), agro-food products and art objects made in Togo. The public in Lomé and the surrounding areas are welcome to take a tour.
