Online sales of products jumped, in terms of value, by 32% in 2020 and again by 7% last year, according to Fevad, which aggregates 200,000 e-merchants in France. But it fell by 12% in the first three months of 2022, and by 15% for the 100 largest sites. This decline is confirmed by the smaller stores aggregated within Procos and Alliance du Commerce, which estimates the decline in e-commerce to be 20 to 30% over the first six months of the year. The most important air holes? Sporting Goods (-58%), Apparel (-28%), Beauty and Health (-23%).
