Mexican director, screenwriter and producer Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, The shape of the water) offers this eight-episode anthology series with completely different universes. A bit like back when Club illico teamed up with the master of Quebec horror to offer something Patrick Senecal presents. The trailer recently posted online suggests a festival of horror, monsters and hemoglobin. Actors like Rupert Grint (Harry Potter), Ben Barnes (shadow and bone) and Tim Blake Nelson (men watch) are involved in the project, as are directors Vincenzo Natali (Splice), Guillermo Navarro (narcotics) and Catherine Hardwicke (dusk).

Among the returns that will be the first to be offered by the Radio-Canada platform this fall, this is the one we’re waiting for with the greatest impatience. Last fall we devoured this joyous border comedy by Marie-Andrée Labbé (to), in which Magalie Lépine-Blondeau plays Sarah, a nurse and sexologist who sees patients struggling with all sorts of problems. Directed by Patrice Ouimet, season two promises to be just as entertaining. We’re particularly excited to find the spit of colorful supporting characters, including Dominique, the no-filter boss camped by Isabelle Vincent. We’re also curious to see how the author managed the exit of budding politician Anne Casabonne.
