The gala opened singing with Marie-Mai, accompanied by dancers from the DM Nation troupe from Lévis, the newly crowned world champion in hip-hop dance, and the success of the pop star: COBRA However, this number was interrupted by Claude Cobra, the singer of Bleu Jeans Bleu, who thought he had been called by the star.

He then suggested replacing Marie-Mai COBRA through TURKEY. in honor of an old viral report of a lady receiving an impromptu visit from a turkey at her home! Stéphane Fallu also invited himself onto the stage for this burst number, but his humor remained a bit flat despite the elaborate staging.

Marie-Mai, a real multidisciplinary artist with a very glamorous look, did a good job of presenting this gala, which was intended to be a great variety show.

PA Méthot and Stéphane Poirier presented figures that left plenty of room for generations to clash. Méthot notably shared a fun day at Granby Zoo as a family with his 11-year-old daughter. Poirier repeated the #MeToo movement with arrows fired at Philippe Bond and Julien Lacroix.

Christian-Marc Gendron was given a standing ovation by many viewers after his very nice imitation number. Those by Garou and Pierre Lapointe were particularly successful. Comedian Michel Charette, meanwhile, ventured into slightly saucy territory by insisting on the importance of following your inner voice.

surprise guests

While the attendance of Méthot, Charette and Gendron had been announced in advance, a few surprise guests arrived to spice up the evening.

Daniel Lemire was one of them. We paid tribute to his 40-year career with Denis Bouchard and Gildor Roy. Lemire then appeared on the boards in the skin of his famous uncle Georges. The latter was warmly applauded.

Marie-Mai, who is also the moderator of the show Big Brother Celebritiesreunited with the winner of the very first season of this reality show, Jean-Thomas Jobin, for a hilarious number dedicated to the auto-tune software widely used in pop and hip-hop music.

Among the other guests, Jean-François Provençal and Julien Corriveau delivered two totally crazy and funny songs. Comedian and presenter Yves Corbeil also took part in a skit, while Pascal Cameron presented two numbers in which he compared comedians and personalities to animals.

The gala ended musically with Éléonore Lagacé, Louise-Audrey Beauséjour, Tranna Wintour, Marie-Mai, Wilfred Lebouthillier, Maxime Landry and a chorus for a final song.

Michel Charette’s gala will be presented tonight at 7.45pm at the Théâtre Capitole. Among the guests are Stéphane Fallu, Sylvain Larocque, Simon Delisle as well as Dominic and Martin.
