This grand celebration of free francophone music and song pays homage to the Superfrancofête that took place in Quebec in 1974. A major cultural and sporting event with 100,000 festival visitors from 25 countries.

During this Superfrancofête, the mythical show I saw the wolf, the fox, the lion was presented in the Plains with Robert Charlebois, Félix Leclerc and Gilles Vigneault.

“Our desire is to recreate that effervescence. We want it to be a unifying, meaningful and emblematic event from the very first edition,” said Sylvain Parent-Bédard, President and Founder of SISMYK.

This event was initially to be presented in 2020 in Tunisia during the Francophonie Summit and then postponed to 2022 for the Dubai World Expo. COVID-19 decided otherwise.

“We were wondering what the most beautiful place to host this event was, and we realized we wanted to see it in Old Quebec,” said Jean-François Blais, Director and Director.

On the radio and television

The SuperFrancoFête will be broadcast live by the radio stations of the Cogeco network and will later be presented in various formats on TVA, TV5 Québec-Canada and TV5 Monde. In addition, talks are ongoing with major broadcasters in French-speaking countries. A budget of three million was provided with various partners to realize this event.

Texts will be read by Kim Thúy and Maka Kotto, with Fred Pellerin present via video. There will also be dancers from Quebec’s DM Nation. About twenty musicians and singers under the direction of Scott Price will be on the boards.

“Thirty artists from all over the world will come to defend what you have defended so well in Quebec for so long, which is French-language song. We like to meet to be together, for the music, for the party, for the joy and in this city that I particularly like,” Patrick Bruel launched in a video message.

Louis-Jean Cormier will draw from his repertoire and also perform great Quebec songs. “I am very happy to take part in this wonderful Franco Fête with so many renowned artists. Those who know me know how much I have tattooed the French language on my heart. ‘ he said during a video intervention.

The SuperFrancoFête is an event that comes back every year.

“Francophonie is huge. It’s a show that will be here for a long time,” remarked Jean-François Blais.

Whoever gets to see the 5000 tickets will be drawn at random. You can register on the superfrancofete.com website.
