A Montrealer on a business trip to France who has been tracking his suitcase with a GPS throughout the metropolis of Québec for the past 12 days can testify to the crisis at Trudeau Airport.

“Every day I go to my phone to see where my luggage has gone. I see him walking all over Montreal, but he comes back to the airport every night,” says director Jérémie Battaglia.
With kind approval
Thanks to a GPS, he could see that he had walked near La Fontaine Park from Montreal Airport.
On June 18, he traveled to France to shoot a documentary. In Bordeaux, the 39-year-old learned that one of his three suitcases, which contained some of his filming equipment and a sleep apnea machine, had never been taken off.
He then filed a notice of loss, hoping that his suitcase would arrive quickly.
But 12 days later still nothing.
Loss of $3000
“We had to buy and rent equipment to shoot our documentary, we have it for about $3,000. We lost a week of work as a result,” he said angrily.
Thanks to a GPS key fob in the suitcase, he can follow the route of his suitcase live.
Sometimes on the Plateau-Mont-Royal, then in downtown Montreal or even in Little Burgundy, he sees his luggage traveling to the four corners of the metropolis thanks to the application of his mobile phone.
Ever since then, speaking to someone from the airline has been a challenge, he says.
“We are unable to speak to a human. The number we call hangs up, on Facebook it is a robot that answers, and on email we are almost never answered, ”he assures.
The director also sent one of his acquaintances to the airport, but it was impossible to retrieve the suitcase there either.
not her problem
His airline says it’s more the airport that has to deal with the problem.
“After the company posted on Facebook, they informed us that they were looking for our luggage as a matter of priority and would deliver it to our Montreal office,” he regrets.
Having still not received his suitcase, Jérémie Battaglia has no intention of letting go of the case, even though he suspects he will surely never see his belongings again.
