While Gran Turismo 7 does not use ray tracing in races, Forza Motorsport wants to enable it as much as possible.
Presented at the last Xbox Showcase, Forza Motorsport caused a sensation with a technically stunning trailer. Playground has also extensively enhanced the visual and technical performance (e.g. damage management) of its next game, which some may have viewed as a barely-hidden tackle in Gran Turismo 7. today, Chris Ezaki, Director of Forza Motorsport, talks about one of the key technical elements of this new work: ray tracing.
Forza Motorsport looks better than Gran Turismo 7?
“Yes,” affirms Chris Ezaki, “ray tracing is activated during the races”. There where GT7 only offers it in photo mode, Forza Motorsport intends to cover it absolutely everywhere. From reflections to light management, Ray tracing will be there to bring even more realism to a software already licensed, which is considered a real technical showpiece.
I want to be very clear that when we say “in the race” it doesn’t mean it’s all about replays or in photo mode on the track and playing with words. We’re not trying to mislead you. When you race and play the game, ray tracing is enabled. We want to be very clear about that.
When gaming, it’s a level of immersion that can be subtle at times, but it’s something that really catches the eye in the graphics and is important to the experience. When we talk about ray tracing, yes it’s amazing, the rendering is photorealistic, immersive and it shows in the gameplay – I want to be very clear about that.
fair was said Forza Motorsport intends to live up to its reputation as the graphics standard pushes his realism even further than before.
Of course we won’t fool ourselves Adding ray tracing can leave some marks, especially on consoles where visual concessions will certainly have to be made, whether on the amount of detail present on the screen, the resolution or the frame rate. On the PC, on the other hand, everything is of course possible, but it will still be necessary to equip yourself with a more than solid configuration to take the beast to the extreme with all the cursors, but there we will not teach you anything .
Forza Motorsport is expected in Spring 2023 on Xbox Series and PC
Don’t get mad in the comments, all car games are created equal (don’t smack me).
