If the products had already been launched in Brazil at the beginning of the month, they are now official. Amazfit has just officially announced its two new entry-level connected watches, the Amazfit Bip 3 and Bip 3 Pro.

As a reminder, the Amazfit Bip range corresponds to the Chinese manufacturer’s more accessible watches at much cheaper prices than its high-end models such as the GTS 3, GTR 3 or GTR 3 Pro. Logically, therefore, we do not expect a particularly neat design, exemplary workmanship or sporty measures … whatever.

In fact, the manufacturer announces a whole series of health measures on its new Amazfit Bip 3 Pro. This of course includes step tracking, heart rate measurement and even blood oxygen saturation measurement (SpO2). As a reminder, this measurement indicates if you are breathing well enough and may be used by certain manufacturers to detect cases of sleep apnea.

But where the Bip 3 Pro surprises isn’t the integration of GPS tracking directly into the watch, without having to take your smartphone with you during your run or bike sessions. Amazfit announces compatibility with “Four Satellite Positioning Systems”.

Other features of the Amazfit Bip 3 Pro include a 1.69-inch square TFT-LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 280 pixels – a density of 218 pixels per inch. It is also 5 ATM certified, so it can be used in shallow water.

On the right is a button that allows navigation in the menus. In addition, as is often the case with Amazfit watches, the Bip 3 Pro offers a considerable autonomy with a 280 mAh battery and a useful life of up to 14 days with typical use – 7 days with intensive use.

Also remember that Amazfit watches work with the RTOS system, just like the OnePlus Watch or the Xiaomi Watch S1. It is therefore impossible to install third-party applications on it, even if they can be used to display notifications.

The Amazfit Bip 3 Pro is already available in the US at a price of €69.99, or €67 excluding taxes. A classic Bip 3 version without GPS costs 59.99 euros or 57 dollars without taxes. At the moment we do not yet know at what price the two watches will be marketed in France.

The best smartwatches aren't what you think they are

Connected watches are becoming more and more powerful, but their limited autonomy prevents them from taking advantage of certain functions. Fortunately, there are alternatives that will suffice for most users.
