Joshua Roy eliminates the Drakkar and captures the QMJHL’s top scorer

We learned yesterday that the Canadian will be drafting the best available player in the world during next July’s amateur draft (in Montreal).

But in Shane Wright’s shadow there is hope for the Canadian, who had another great night in the office : Joshua Roy.

Roy and the Phoenix eliminated the Drakkar at Baie-Comeau (in four games, in one three out of five) and thus reach the second round in the QMJHL.

Roy scored two goals (including the winner) and had an assist in the 3-2 win, giving him a hand in all of his team’s goals.

The fifth-round election of the CH has already 12 points (four goals and eight assists) in just four games since the beginning endgames.

He is currently the QMJHL’s top scorer in the playoffs…

He, who was also the top scorer in the regular season, remembers.

Note that Roy did all of this when he was only 18 years old. The players who perform such feats are usually often 19 or 20 years old…

Roy was born on August 6, 2003. Had he been born a few days later, he would have been eligible for the 2022 draft, not 2021. He would clearly have been a first-round pick this year if that were the case.

The Habs have high hopes for Joshua Roy. All thanks to a fifth-round selection, we recall.

That’s why it’s important for the Canadian to make good decisions with each of his 14 picks this year.

Note that Joshua Roy and the Sherbrooke Phoenix will face the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in the second round. The series begins Sunday in Sherbrooke. Will Roy continue his demolition work?
