successful montages with a simple iOS app

After the Macro Challenge, which recognized the iPhone 13 Pro’s telephoto lens, Apple is now beginning to promote the post-production capabilities of its phones. A recent post from the brand on Instagram shows us how Gaia Barnatan, graphic designer, opted for a free app to create your own montages with iOS.

The first image, which seems to have a young woman floating in the air, is composed of two basic shots: on the one hand the subject in question, on the other hand the sky. The second image is a similar combination with a match whose smoke seems to merge with the clouds, while the third features a vinyl record in a desert setting.

The platform that made these little feats possible is called Bazaart, and it offers multiple tools for retouch. One of them, called “magic eraser‘, for example, allows you to remove a background in a jiffy, while the scissors offer the possibility of ‘cutting’ a subject by hand and then being able to move it as you like. Functions that are also present in Photoshop, for example, but under different names.

Bazaart is rated 4.7/5 on the App Store and is compatible with all iPhones equipped with itiOS 14 or higher, i.e. iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 13 mini and iPhone SE (second and third generation). A tablet version is also available, which runs on the latest iPad Air and iPad Pro, among others.

The artist

Under his pseudonym @liquid_pink, the creator of these photomontages, is based out of Melbourne, Australia. His work has already been shared by the media combi in France or at Wired for English speakers. Even better ; Barnatan was also able to shine with the cover of the disc Brooklyn Bridge to the chorus by the American rock band The Strokes.

To find the entire collection of the artist’s creations, do not hesitate to take a look at her website. There’s also a magazine, posters, and communication campaigns commissioned by companies other than Apple (Tim Cook’s company actually commissioned the photos you could discover in this article).
