France: Castelletto and Nantes win the cup –

Thanks to a penalty converted by Ludovic Blas, Jean-Charles Castelletto and FC Nantes won the Coupe de France this Saturday by beating OGC Nice (1-0).

Jean-Charles Castelletto holds his first trophy with FC Nantes. The Cameroonian defender won the club’s fourth French Cup with the Canary Islands this Saturday. This is the last trophy won by Antoine Kombouaré’s men in 20 years. Nantes defeated OGC Nice (1-0) in a hard-fought final at the Stade de France.

The Canaries struck first. After a tight first half, FC Nantes opened the scoring right at the start of the second period against Nice in this Coupe de France final. After a Quentin Merlin cross, Hicham Bouadaoui touched the ball with his hand from close range. Stéphanie Frappart made the decision to whistle a penalty. Ludovic Blas then came forward with a powerful shot to put his team in the lead (47′). Antoine Kombouaré’s men then had to hold back to lift the trophy.
