Portrait of the QMJHL 1st Round Playoff

With the QMJHL regular season on the horizon, it’s time for the playoffs.

Regular-season champions, the Quebec Remparts, will face their lifelong rivals, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, in the first round.

The three out of five formula will be in effect during this first round.

Last year’s champions from Cape Breton and Victoriaville were eliminated from the playoffs.

The Charlottetown Islanders, who have 103 points during the season, will take on the Moncton Wildcats.

Canada’s Joshua Roy and Sherbrooke Phoenix meet Baie-Comeau Drakkar, who earned his playoff ticket with an 8-3 win over Chicoutimi in his last game of the season.

The Gatineau Olympiques and the Val-d’Or Foreurs meet while the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies cross swords with the Shawinigan Cataractes.

The Drummondville Voltigeurs take on the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

The Rimouski Océanic, for their part, plays the first-round series against the Saint John Sea Dogs.

The Acadie-Bathurst Titans meet the Halifax Mooseheads.
