“Our police are ready to intervene if there are traffic problems on our territory. […] and there must have been excesses related to this rally,” says the City of Montreal Police Department (SPVM).

This new convoy of protesters is being organized primarily by two Ontario organizations fighting for “freedom,” namely Freedom Fighters Canada and The Unifiers. Dozens of them will drive from Ottawa to Montreal to oppose a series of measures.

“Yes, we actually know about this convoy that was supposed to take place this weekend. […] It is clear that it is our duty to monitor the road network, so it is also our mission, “explains Sergeant Ann Mathieu of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

“Against all”?

The main organizer of this convoy, a young father from Saint-Eustache, who claims “Yan” to be named, declined our request from a telephone interview.

“We condemn the government’s abusive actions, the public health emergency that never ends… Law 15, which just passed, gives the government far too many powers,” explains “Yan,” who stubbornly refuses to reveal his full potential name.

On the other hand, the inhabitants of Saint-Eustache does not hesitate to shoot in his car to promote his event, which will take place on Saturday at 13 o’clock. “Share my event. It must be great. You have no reason not to come. I want to see you, “he says in a video that was shared this week.

According to our information, the Freedom Fighters and The Unifiers come to La Fontaine Park primarily to oppose Bill 15, which passed unanimously in the National Assembly last week.

It should be noted that after this Jugendschutzgesetz the child’s interest always takes precedence over all other considerations, even those of his parents must have. This was created, among other things, to avoid another tragedy like the little girl from Granby year of 2019.

In addition, the organizer of the demonstration did not want to explain his motives for opposing Law 15.
